Dr. Oscar
Quezada
Medical
Director for Primera
Luz Women’s Center
Since opening his practice, Las Nubes Women’s
Healthcare, in November 2001, Dr. Quezada has dedicated his career
to caring for women and their families through the major events in
their lives, from childbearing through the menopausal process. Dr.
Quezada was raised in South Texas, the son of a migrant construction
worker. He worked several jobs while attending high school and
college. In 1996 he received his Bachelor of Science degree in
Pharmacology from the University of Texas at Austin. While working
as a pharmacist, he attended the University of Texas Southwestern
Medical School in Dallas. In the year 2000 he came to El Paso to do
his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Texas Tech Health
Science Center. Dr. Quezada became Board Certified in Obstetrics and
Gynecology through the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology
in 2004. During his busy academic years Dr. Quezada received many
acknowledgements for his work. While attending Pharmacy school, he
was recognized as a member Who’s Who among American College
Students, received the Texas Achievement Award, and was named a
National Merit Scholar. During Medical School, he received Honors
for his Obstetrics and Gynecology, Emergency Room, and Internal
Medicine rotations, as well as during his externship in Obstetrics
and Gynecology at Thomason Hospital. As a Resident, Dr. Quezada was
named Chief Resident by his colleges in 2000 and 2001and received
Patient Satisfaction Awards. As though his academic endeavors were
not enough, Dr. Quezada participated in many extracurricular
activities including membership in the Baylor Premedical Honors
Academy, National Chicano Health Organization, Longhorn Pharmacy
Association, Mexican American Association of Pharmacy Students, and
the Latin American Student Organization in Medical School. Dr.
Quezada also participated in a program mentoring young boys without
fathers. When asked why he chose Obstetrics and Gynecology, he
shared that through out Medical School everything was “very
interesting”, yet nothing attracted his interest until his Obstetric
and Gynecology rotation. The Certified Nurse-Midwives at Parkland
showed care and compassion for their clients and took the time to
teach him the natural phases of life women experience, thus
inspiring him to become an Obstetrician. Dr Quezada is a physician
that honors
and respects the normal biologic processes women face during their
lives. Whether a woman chooses herbal remedies or conventional
Western Medicine, Dr. Quezada supports her in her choice. Continued
evidence of his belief in natural process and a woman’s right to
choose where and with whom she wishes to have her baby he is
participating in the opening of Primera Luz Birthing Center. The
Primera Luz Birthing Center will provide family-centered care to
low-risk women and their babies for those of you in the market for
an Obstetrician or Gynecologist Oscar Quezada can provide the
competent and compassionate care you wish for.

Norma
Vasquez
Administrator
for Primera
Luz Women’s Center
Coming
to the United
States at the tender age of one, Norma has lived in El Paso
almost all her life. Graduating from El Paso Community College in
1986, she was awarded an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. After
pursuing that line of work for a time, she became employed as an
accountant with Planned Parenthood Centers of El Paso from
1998-2001. A short time later Norma was named manager of clinics and
trained clinic staff for proper implementation of different
State-funded programs for two years. During that time she completed
her Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management at Park
University. Promoted to Administrative Agency Manager, Norma
managed all the HIV grant monies for six counties in Texas. Managing
that program successfully for three years, Norma left Planned
Parenthood Centers after 7-1/2 years of excellent service. Next
dedicating herself to consulting work in State programs with other
local non-profit organizations, she then decided to take up the
challenge of the healthcare field in the private sector. Presently,
Norma is the Administrator for Prim-era Luz Women’s Center, which
will open in August. The new Women’s Center will provide OB/GYN
services, urgent care, pharmacy and birthing services, all under the
capable Medical Directorship of Dr. Oscar Quezada. In addition to
her present duties, Norma is busily pursuing a Master’s Degree in
Health Management Services at Webster University.

Margie
Escapita
Marketing
Director for Primera
Luz Women’s Center
Born in Delicias, Chihuahua
in Mexico, Margie’s family came to the United States when she was
four. A 1982 graduate of Bel-Air High School. she attended the
University of Texas-at El Paso and earned a Bachelors Degree in
Finance. Working for international companies in purchasing,
logistics and sales for 15 years, she established an extensive track
record in marketing in Mexico.
Fluent in Spanish. she
embraces the Mexican Corporate Culture as her own. Loving the
American Culture equally, she believes it’s a privilege to enjoy the
best of both worlds. Presently the Marketing/Public Relations
Director for Primera Luz Women’s Center, she previously worked for
Planned Parenthood Centers of El Paso. She managed the Breast and
Cervical Cancer Program and the Primary Healthcare Clinic in Sierra
Blanca, Texas, Margie ran a community advisory board for all of
Hudspeth County. Participating in community events is something she
loves to do. Membership in the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce
gives her the opportunity to be a viable part of what’s happening in
our town. With a strong belief in higher education, she holds a
Masters Degree in Business and Human Resource Development. An
attractive asset to El Paso, Margie works to promote our city in
meaningful ways while helping others in matters important to their
well-being.
